Germanxia Mobilmaster Touring CH-10

A surprise performer among the folding pedelecs tested. Ideal for customers prepared to compromise on design, motor power and fine-tuned control – if price is the key factor, this is your bike!
 

 
Much is promised here: Rocket rims, TopGun suspension fork and X German all over… and a design which is a mix of ‘70s shopper and ‘00s Chinese pedelec. But “It rides significantly better than it looks” was the first impression of most of the test riders. Ergonomically, there was no test rider present whose dimensions the bike fitted. Hill starts require patience, because the motor assist only cuts in once you have already set off on muscle power alone – but then, with a power assist factor or 1.23, motor power is close to the average value. Operating is anything but intuitive… it would take some time to work out how to get it going without a user manual. First turn the battery pack key switch to “ON”, then press the button marked “M” on the display, then you can head off. Switching on the lights is equally confusing: the red light button on the handlebars only switches the power from the hub dynamo on and off…
