Summary: With is gentle swan-neck looks and relaxed handling, the Twin RT is especially convincing as an easy pedelec, but it also puts in a good showing in the city comfort group.
Low-key in white, with ochre brown graphic elements, the Twin RT is a relaxed ride on the flat. The reliable Panasonic drive system delivers assist unobtrusively. When it’s working hard a quiet whine is audible, and on the hills some test riders would have liked rather more power. On steeper climbs, gear shifting on the Nexus 7-speed hub gear was noticeably reluctant, not helped by the motor carrying on running briefly once you’d stopped pedalling. Important details such as remaining range are clearly legible on the display. With over 500 watt hours, the chunky battery on the Twin delivers good range figures. With seatpost suspension, lock-out suspension fork, angle adjustable stem and ergonomic grips, the Twin is very comfortable to ride. Alongside two hydraulic rim brakes there is a coaster brake for extra safety. And when it comes to tyres and lights, the Twin employs only well-proven branded products.
