Binova flow - une motorisation innovante

Binova a intégré l'interface EnergyBus pour la communication entre ses différents composants. Ce choix technologique permet aux utilisateurs de la motorisation, un grand nombre de combinaisons possibles en toute simplicité.

In Autumn 2014 the test riders in Tanna had something very special to test: a direct drive system developed by a start-up company from Glashütte in Saxony, Germany, a region on the outskirts of Dresden known for exclusive watches from the brand “A. Lange & Söhne”.

Binova GmbH is a spin-off of an company based in neighbouring Dippoldiswalde, Selectrona GmbH, who have a global presence manufacturing complex electromagnetic components in high numbers for the electrical technology and automotive industries. The majority of their produc- tion is fully automated so as to satisfy customer demands for quality and cost. Binova is able to take advantage of the production processes and buying power of Selectrona GmbH for the production of the ”binova flow” drive system. Even producing the unit in large numbers would be an easily-met challenge for the still small Binova GmbH.

Binova GmbH has developed the motor for pedelec use, along with the control system and bottom bracket sensor technology, and they provided a pre-production sample for the ExtraEnergy Test in Autumn 2014 to validate their development work and to compare its measured results with other competitors on the market.

ExtraEnergy is especially pleased to accommodate such requests. This lets any improvements be incorporated into the final product before production actually starts, at which point alterations to the drive system could no longer be made so easily. Development engineers from Binova GmbH were on site for many of the testing days, and they had conversations with test riders so as to receive their direct feedback, and also so they could ask questions. Tea breaks, and the group evening meal with the test riders, are especially well suited for this, and in 23 years of e-bike and pedelec tests at ExtraEnergy, numerous such observations and suggestions for improvements have been exchanged, many of which have played a decisive role in improving products to better satisfy customer wishes.

Since Summer 2015, Binova has been an active EnergyBus member and they have implemented the EnergyBus interface for communications between the individual components. This means they have enabled customers to use the drive system in a wide range of combinations without any great difficulty.
