Delivering high range figures for touring and in the city, the Rivel Central Park offers an upright riding position. On the Tour circuit it impressed with its huge levels of assistance, a necessity for this 30 kg pedelec.
The upright riding position is typical for a pedelec in the Classic product group. It´s one of the preconditions for a pedelec to be admitted to the Classic product group that it have a closed chaincase, something that the Rivel Centre Park, originating from the Netherlands, is equipped with as a matter of course. Test riders found the Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub gear transmission a bit sluggish, but they praised the easy removal and refitting of the battery pack. This is an important aspect which could otherwise quickly become irritating in everyday use. The only complaint was that the markings on the charger could have been clearer. At around 30 kg, the overall weight is rather high. But for hill starts, and when pushing the bike uphill, the start and push assist function is a real help.
