Ampler Bike Bilberry Ladies'

An extravagantly elegant pedelec with a minimalist control console. Amid normal bikes it doesn’t stand out as electric. Amid electric bikes, it stands out from the crowd.

Harmonious, quiet and simply a pleasure to ride: that’s the Bilberry Ladies’ from this Estonian start-up. It’s a pedelec, but at first glance you won’t recognise it as such. The battery pack is built into the elegant frame, and the motor isn’t immediately identifiable.

All functions can be set via a knob with a multi-colour LED ring, or even more easily, by using a smartphone app. It gives you a powerful push rolling along on the flat, and it’s also adequate on gentle and average climbs.

But the drive system felt soft and lacking power on the 12% gradients of the ExtraEnergy test circuit. Here, the Bilberry Ladies’ demanded excessive power input from the rider.

When riding without the motor, the bike’s light weight is impressive: with its very good easy-rolling performance gentle climbs, flat stretches and easy descents are no problem. From the 2018 season onwards this model has a slightly changed frame with just a single top tube, will be called the Stellar instead of Bilberry Ladies’, and will cost 100 Euro more.
