CDS E-Trike VS 3E - Commercial cargo 120kg+ Good

The test’s heavy haulage specialist scored highly with its powerful motor, integrated gearing and solid components. However, the “VSC” isn’t intended for fast riding or long distances.

The intended use of this VSC bike is crystal clear, more so than with any other bike on test. It’s all about heavy loads, large volumes and journeys with many stops. Reliability and functionality come ahead of design and a fun ride. For example, for postal deliveries: the set- up on the test bike provides space for six standardised letter containers. These are attached relatively high on the bike. This raises the centre of gravity at the ex- pense of the handling, but it also enables loading and unloading without any deep stooping. The motor con- trol is operated by a twist throttle, which is good for frequent setting off on short trips. Over longer dis- tances the test riders complained that the throttle was hard to hold on. The spacious rear load bed can be set up with various sizes: lengths of up to 1.6 metres are possible, optionally also with a metre-tall box struc- ture. The VSC was the only bike in the test which was also tested with 100 kg of payload, and even with this on board the ERZMO MS 1 mid motor was still not at its limit on hills. The VSC richly deserved its “Good” in the “Commercial 120+” product group!
