Pedalpower Long Harry E-Cargo Marquardt

The powerhouse of the PedalPower stable. All wheel drive makes this LongHarry an absolute power colossus - and a test winner of the product group commercial cargo 50kg+.

The most scintillating innovation in the ExtraEnergy cargo pedelec test is the all wheel drive system from German automotive supplier Marquardt. With a geared hub motor in both front and rear wheels, the “LongHarry” achieved the highest power assist factor and speed values of all pedelecs 25 on test. Even fully loaded, testers rated the handling and roadholding as enjoyable. The all wheel drive holds its line well, and takes load off the drivetrain. However, you are limited to derailleur gearing: integration of gearing into motors or into the bottom bracket is unfortunately still very rare. The control of the drive system could have been more harmonious and immediately sensitive in its assistance; after cutting out at the 25 km/h limit the drive only cut in again at 23 km/h. Thanks to the double batteries the range is respectable. As well as the open aluminium box as tested, lockable boxes in various sizes are available, plus a child-carrying set-up. All in all, the LongHarry excelled against the test competition with its exceptionally powerful motor system: congratulations from ExtraEnergy on the test win in the commercial cargo 50k+ and on the "Good" in the product groups easy and tour.
