Pedalpower eHarry

Matt black with fire-red splashes – the “eHarry” impressed with good design and high quality components

A growing grouping based in Berlin comes together on this “eHarry”: both bike builder PedalPower and also drive system maker Brose E-Bikes manufacture in Germany’s capital city. And they make a good team. The Brose drive system is very quiet for a mid motor, and it harmonises superbly with the NuVinci transmission, and it’s also integrated very unobtrusively in the clean-lined frame. The assistance is even and direct – although in the configuration tested it was a little weak for steep hill sections when loaded. This is the main reason that the “eHarry” didn’t win an award as a cargo pedelec. As a result Brose has now made available a more powerful “cargo profile”, and with this power assist levels will rise by about 15%, while range values will accordingly drop somewhat. But that should not be a problem, as the eHarry has enormous range – on the touring section, this bike could crack the 100 km barrier, even when loaded.  The lockable aluminium box on the test bike is available in various sizes, and a child carrying set-up with cover is also available.
