LLobe Blanche

Little love for the LLobe. Despite the generally positive ride ratings on the power assist for the price, we recommend that the manufacturer withdraw it from the market immediately because of its safety-critical deficiencies: we found defective brakes and remarkably severe shimmy.

With a 63.8 km average range on the ‘tour’ section, the LLobe Blanche is in the midrange of the test field for this section of the test. On the ‘city’ section, too, in comparison to the other easy pedelecs it was middle-ranking with a range of 37.6 km. But it’s different for the power assist factor (U-factor): at 0.59 for ‘city’ it is one of the lowest values achieved in urban use. On ‘tour’, too, the U-factor of 1.3 is among the lowest values of all the bikes on test. So it’s no surprise that on the ‘hills’ section it achieved an average speed of just 19.7 km/h. With a ‘hills’ U-factor of 0.93, you’ll have to do a lot of work on the pedals compared to other bikes. We remain optimistic that the manufacturer will learn lessons quickly with regard to safety, and that ExtraEnergy will not have to issue any further product warnings in this case.
