Adore Versailles

At 899 Euro it may be cheap, but unfortunately it can only be classed as dangerous goods fit only for landfill, even fresh from the factory. If you've bought one of these, best return it immediately.

At Otto Versand, where these pedelecs are offered for sale, the “Adore Versailles Ladies E-Bike” is advertised as follows: “This Adore city e-bike is the perfect way to get started with e-mobility”. Perfect really doesn't come into it, because in reality it would be best for safety reasons not to use this bike at all. The brakes are very weak, and require constant re-adjustment because the pads wear away so quickly. The frame is similarly weak, and so rickety that most of the test riders were not confident to ride it fast. The stem for the handlebar had an assembly fault that meant that after around 30 km it suddenly came loose – it was only by luck that the test rider escaped injury. The rubber rim tape was too narrow, and this caused a flat tyre after just one kilometre's riding. As delivered, the fork was extremely misaligned. With a U-factor of 1.5 on the touring route the motor pushed very powerfully, but unfortunately always with a delay, which was not all that agreeable, especially on hill starts.
