Carver Cityzen 1030 - Easy Very Good, City-Comfort Good

Practical mobility for everyday use. Poised and powerful on both tour and hills routes. Fully earned its “Good” in the Easy Pedelecs product group.

This was a lot of fun for the test riders, with above-average range on the Hills and Tour test circuits, and with powerful assistance too. The Carver Cityzen 1030 provides an upright riding position, giving a good view over the road ahead, and plenty of comfort. The handlebar is adjustable for height without tools, and on longer rides this provides additional relief for the hands, comfortable grips notwithstanding. The specification does without any bells and whistles; instead everything is simple and of high quality, and delivers important functionality. The final rating of 1.7 for ease of operation in the ergonomics test was correspondingly positive. The Bosch mid motor buzzed, and every so often, on particular sections of the route it would cause the frame to buzz too, especially at higher pedalling frequencies. You should not attempt to shift the Shimano 8 speed hub gear under load on hills, because to protect itself it will simply refuse. The Carver Cityzen 1030 has the potential to offer many year's service as a trusty companion.
