Fischer Proline Trekking ETH 1401 - City-Comfort Good, Easy Good

This pedelec with its low price-tag has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of: despite its affordable specification it does the job reliably.

Fischer sent the Proline ETH into the test twice: with both diamond and low step-through frames. For both models, Fischer received an always respectable "Good" in the easy pedelec and city-comfort pedelec categories. The reason for this is that while the Proline may be low priced, it is not a bad bike. The design looks simple, but by no means cheap. Nonetheless, it is clear that for this price, savings must have made somewhere: perhaps in the relatively weak rim brakes or the low priced but functional gearing system. The greatest potential savings, though, are in the drive system, and the Proline relies on a simple rear motor. This reacts with a considerable delay, but it does what it is there for: it drives the bike along really briskly and pleasantly, and also manages a respectable range. Some test riders perceived the ETH as unstable at high speeds, but with the motor switched off it impressed with its easy rolling.
