About the Test 2011/12
It was a golden October this year in Thuringia. There was a lot of sunshine with just a few rainy days, disrupted by a short hail storm. Altogether, more than 4,000 km were covered by all of the test riders. Due to the new measurement equipment - new measuring pedals were bought in advance - no technical problems could be recorded. „Everything went well“, is the résumé of Ilona Wünsche who took part as a test rider for the fourth time.

Drive Systems tested in 2011/12
The dominant drive system participating in the test is the center drive. Seven hub drives are used in front wheels. Especially the two participating Utility Pedelecs are equipped with hub drives in their front wheel. Nine hub drives are used in rear wheels, including three Swiss products. One of the Swiss participating vehicle is equipped with a drive system of the GoSwiss Drive AG. This company was founded only in 2011 and could already submit its product to the test.

A total of thirteen vehicles are equipped with Bosch center drives from 250 W to 350 W and outnumber the participants. Second place takes the Panasonic drive, which is used in seven bikes, presenting itself in the version with and without backpedalling brake. The newly developed 36 V Panasonic drive in the version up to 25 km/h and up to 45 km/h supported pedal power is included in that number.

Furthermore, bikes with Bafang and Accell hub drives in rear wheels as well as Daum center drives are tested in this test round.
