Kalkhoff is setting NEW STANDARDS with new motor generation from 25 to 28 July 2013 at ISPO BIKE in Munich.
With a new generation of the in-house Impulse drive system as highlight, Kalkhoff is starting into the bike season of 2014.
The advanced version of the successful drive system that was introduced in 2011 as first centre motor system with integrated back-pedal brake is setting a new benchmark in terms of safety, riding comfort and performance. The
Impulse 2.0 Drive features dynamic acceleration as well as a technically optimised gear and brake behaviour.
New standards are also set in the S-Pedelec section: With the „Impulse SPEED“, Kalkhoff presents a new version of the Impulse centre motor drive for fast S-Pedelecs. It entails nearly all features of the Impulse 2.0 system, supports dynamically up to a speed of 45 kilometres per hour and will be supplied for the first time for the Kalkhoff Endeavour Impulse S11 in the upcoming season. “The new drive system is an important breakthrough for us“, says Rainer Brinkmann, responsible for E-bikes as group leader in product management and driving forward product innovations. “As E-bike market leader, Kalkhoff benefits immensely from the experience, feedback and suggestions of our customers. This flows into our in-house product development directly”, explains Brinkmann. “Therefore, we have gained a competitive advantage over other manufacturers who are working with externally purchased drives, and we create added value for our customers.”
Ideally adjusted to fit the customer requirements are the other Kalkhoff E-bike innovations as well. New frames have been developed and new, extra strong lighting systems have been installed. In the health section, the range of the pulse-controlled Impulse ERGO System that was introduced in April 2013 will be extended: In the future, this system will also be available as XXL version. “These new developments acknowledge our strategy of pushing our own innovations successfully to create new models for bike-enthusiastic people”, emphasises Christoph Freund, senior brand manager for Kalkhoff. “With the new Impulse drive generation "made in Germany", Kalkhoff has positioned itself as the innovation leader in the market.”

IMPULSE ERGO XXL
This new E-bike for health and fitness training combines two successful concepts in one E-bike. For one thing, it has the Impulse ERGO as foundation, which is the first pulse-controlled E-bike in the world that was introduced in April 2013. For another thing, the Impulse ERGO XXL, like the other bikes of the Kalkhoff XXL range, is equipped with highly durable tyres, a very resilient suspension fork and a very solid frame. Therefore, the Impulse ERGO XXL offers a maximum permissible total weight of 170 kg. With the Impulse Ergo, riders can keep the desired training pulse without high physical loading.
