ExtraEnergy introduced a number of new facets to its pedelec and e-bike test in the Autumn 2009 Test. For instance, for the first time, specialist riders tested the tour bikes. Also for the first time, values were collected separately for city sections, in addition to the performance values for mountain and tour sections. Twenty-nine pedelecs and one e-bike are currently being tested by ExtraEnergy. In addition, 15 bikes from the Spring 2009 Test are being re-tested and compared with the new test bikes on request of the manufacturers. All test results will be published in February 2010.more...
Thirty-three people were involved in the ExtraEnergy Autumn 2009/10 Test, including the volunteer test riders, who stayed in their saddles through snow and rain and received certificates afterwards addressed to "the toughest test riders of all times". The multi-stage test procedure, which has proved itself in the Spring 2009 Test, was followed again in the Autumn 2009/10 Test. The stages consisted of an ergonomic test (conducted in Stuttgart), test rides with high-quality measuring technology attached to the bikes (in Tanna) and laboratory tests (to be conducted in Schweinfurt and Chemnitz).more...
