With the Passol Scooter and new prototypes, that were presented at Tokyo Motor Show 2003, Yamaha strikes a new path––visually and technically.
At the Tokyo Motor Show (Oct. 24 - Nov. 5, 2003), Yamaha once again positioned itself among the leaders of innovation in the two-wheel industry. The serial scooter Passol has evolved a range of prototypes that go a new direction in exterior design and set standards in technology. The FC06 model, for example, mounts a direct methanol type fuel cell. Other features include GPS navigation, camera-equipped rear-view monitor and an AC outlet. If and when the Passol, using a Yamaha-developed drive unit, will be available in Europe has not yet been decided. Just recently Yamaha did a market research to find out about the interest of different European target groups in such a product. For this reasearch Yamaha was also using the ExtraEnergy website.
