ETRA publishes Guide for E-Bike Training

ETRA's Policy Guide for Electric Bicycles will be part of the study material of the PRESTO training courses, due to kick off in Poland later this month.

The European Twowheel Retailers' Association (ETRA) has published a policy guide for the e-bike part of the PRESTO training course. PRESTO is a project of the EU’s Intelligent Energy Programme and financed by the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (EACI).

The PRESTO project was launched in June 2009 and is about competence-building in cycling promotion (see PRESTO website).

The training course consists of three sections and each has it own policy guide. The other two guides are for the sections cycling promotion and cycling infrastructure.

The PRESTO training course is designed to help bicycle dealers, distributors, civil servants, local administrations, NGO staff and other interested parties raise awareness of cycling and stimulate the market, help them sell bicycles (including e-bikes) and promote the use of bikes and e-bikes in general.

The first PRESTO training session is scheduled for 26 and 27 February 2009 in Tczew, Poland. For the agenda and registration form of the training course in Tczew, please go here.

(Please note the schedule of training courses published on the PRESTO site is in need of updating.) Seats for the Tczew course are limited and registration will be dealt with on a first-come-first-served basis.

For further detail, contact ETRA at tel. +32 9 233 60 05, or e-mail the organization at etra@pandora.be.

Note, the full name of the guide is Policy Guide on Electric Bicycles. It is available for download on the ETRA website (click here) and will later also be available on the PRESTO site (www.presto-cycling.eu)

Alternatively, it can be requested from the ETRA secretariat by sending an e-mail to etra@pandora.eu.
