An interesting opportunity has opened up for pedelec manufacturers and traders to build awareness for their brands (without spending a lot of money) in a part of Germany which promises to be a major e-mobility region in the near future.
The holiday region Allgäu in the southwest of Germany (the foothills of the Alps) is one of seven regions receiving special support from Germany's federal government to grow the use of e-vehicles (e-autos, pedelecs, e-scooters, e-bikes, Segways etc.)
The Allgäuers decided to focus on their tourism sector and to turn it into an e-mobility-friendly industry like no other. For that purpose, they called upon local businesses active in tourism to throw their weight behind the project. Read all about the project on the website www.ee-tour.de (German only).
As part of this project the Geographic Institute of the University of Tübingen will conduct research among the citizens of Allgäu to determine their attitude towards e-mobility. The research will kick off early in May and will take the form of an online survey to be completed by individuals.
To encourage as many citizens as possible to complete the survey, the Geographic Institute wants to give away 3 pedelecs to three lucky winners - to be announced on 19 June.
The Institute now calls on potential sponsors to consider donating 3 pedelecs. In turn, the pictures of the 3 pedelecs of the "survey sponsors" will feature prominently on the website www.ee-tour.de for roughly 6 weeks from early May to 19 June.
"The brand awareness gained in the Allgäu with such a sponsorship, should pay back generously later when the project to "e-mobilize" the Allgäu tourism sector picks up speed," said dr. Rainer Rothfuss, convenor of the research at the Institute.
Manufacturers and traders interested in sponsoring the research in this way, may e-mail dr. Rothfuss at the Institute (rainer.rothfuss@uni-tuebingen.de) for more information.
