For the full year 2019, the industry expects more than 1.1 million vehicles sold. The electric bicycle continues its growth course in 2019.

Market data The Zweirad-Industrie-Verband expects that between January and June 2019 about 2.93 million bicycles were sold. That's an increase of around 3.2%.
Production also increased again. In the first six months, 1.47 million vehicles were produced. This corresponds to an increase of approx. 4.6%. The ZIV expects a slight growth compared to the same period of the previous year. According to figures from the Federal Statistical Office, imports of bicycles increased by around 6.1% during the period under review. The proportion of electric bicycles in imports was just over 26%. There is also a significant increase in exports of bicycles. Between January and June, export volumes increased by just under 14.1%. The electric bicycle's share of exports was around 36%. Electric bicycle sales increased significantly The Zweirad-Industrie-Verband estimates that in the first half of 2019 around 920,000 electric bicycles were sold through the trade. For the full year 2019, industry therefore expects more than 1.1 million vehicles sold. This would correspond to double-digit growth of around 12%.
