Accept covering an increased risk?
„If you would work in the insurance industry, would you accept covering an increased risk without charging for it? 

Of course not. So why do you expect that the insurance industry will accept fake motorcycles which are legally bicycles? 

The insurance industry will not tolerate this much longer…

Will insurance industry renounce 65 million €?
Let`s say when we have 10 million pedelecs in Europe this is a lost income of 65 million euro for the insurance industry. 

Be sure, the insurance industry will get their income. 

Everything else is naive wishful thinking.

European insurance industry agreed
May be a strong motor of a cargo bike or a pedelec which pulls a children trailer can trade a higher overall safety. 

So, the insurance industry agreed with ExtraEnergy and the European Government project „Go Pedelec!“, that the acceleration and maximum speed create danger potential.

Legal status of the electric bicycle in danger
There are a lot of strong media stories about how dangerous electric bicycles are and that there are so many casualties because of the added danger potential.  

So, this could create a situation that governments will push back the legal status of the electric bicycle.
