Thanks to the success story of Tesla EV marketing, the small standard 18650 LIB cell becomes possible for mass quantity battery system application in E-mobilities.

The drastically increase of capacity of 18650 cell to 3.5Ah in the last years has almost reached the material limitation.

Cell manufacture companies start to propose the dimension change of 18650 cell for continued capacity increase.

But keeping the advantage of high quality, high reliability and cost effectiveness of standardization is challenging.
