REHAU was exhibiting at Taichung Bike Week 2015 in Taiwan as part of the ExtraEnergy LEV Components Special Exhibition.
ExtraEnergy spoke with Daniel Quauck (Commercial Analyst) from REHAU AG during Taichung Bike Week 2015 at the Splendor Hotel.
The interview was conducted by Josephine Fischer (Trade Show Reporter). Josephine: Why are you exhibiting at Taichung Bike Week 2015? Daniel: TBW 2015 was advertised as a major OEM event where one could come into contact with decision-makers in the industry. That’s the way to sound out new opportunities in international markets. This happened to an extent, but also to an extent it did not. We had expected more product managers from major OEMs here at Taichung Bike Week. Josephine: What is special about the products you are exhibiting here? Daniel: Within our REHAU E-BikeBody it’s possible to integrate components and functions including battery, motor, controller, lights and HMI. Automated manufacturability is key for this, thanks to an injection moulding process and consistent high quality. Our frames open up new possibilities for the design of the bicycle. Josephine: What products is REHAU offering for 2016 in this area? Daniel: We are in discussions with many OEMs, and hope that in 2016 we will be able to start new projects in collaboration with OEMs, which we can bring to market in 2017 / 2018. Josephine: Where does REHAU sell its products? Daniel: The focus is on Europe, but we are open to projects worldwide.
