High-Level Decision-Makers to speak on 2Wheels in EU-Policies on September 18 in Brussels.

Organised by ETRA (European Twowheel Retailers’ Association), Sustainable2Wheels will take place on September 18th in Brussels both on the esplanade of the European Parliament and in the Luxembourg Station (adjacent to the esplanade) from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. The event is held as part of the European Mobility Week.

Now in its third consecutive year, Sustainable2Wheels consists of a presentation of contemporary bicycles, electric bicycles, scooters and motorcycles, particularly suited for urban transport. Visitors will have ample opportunity to test the vehicles on show. In addition to this demonstration, in the Luxembourg station, different types of organisations will present their activities and/or specific projects for the promotion of 2Wheels in particular and sustainable mobility in general.

The event is aimed at raising awareness among European decision-makers on the potential contribution of 2Wheels to sustainable mobility. Therefore, as part of the inauguration of Sustainable2Wheels, ETRA will interview a group of high-level decision-makers. The main theme of the interview is 2Wheels in EU policies. The interviewer is ETRA Secretary General Annick Roetynck. She will ask critical questions on issues such as subsidiarity, 2Wheels in the EU budget, European electro-mobility and environmental policies, etc.

The interviewees are:
- Janez Potočnik, EU Commissioner for the Environment, European Commission
- Matthias Groote, Chair, ENVI Committee, European Parliament
- Helga Trüpel, Vice-Chair, CULT Committee, European Parliament
- Nikos Chrysogelos, Vice-Chair, REGI Committee, European Parliament

- Bruno De Lille, Secretary of State, Brussels Capital Region
- Isabelle Durant, Vice-President, European Parliament

The interview is open to the public and will take place in the Luxembourg Station, a location chosen to symbolise the importance of intermodality in sustainable mobility.

The Luxembourg Station is next to the esplanade of the European Parliament where during the day a large number of diverse companies will be showing their 2Wheel solutions for sustainable mobility. The visitors of Sustainable2Wheels will be presented with among other things innovative folding bicycles, electric bicycles, cargo bikes, a bike taxi and a velomobile, but also with completely new types of 2- or 3Wheels.
