Originally the INTERMOT was a pure motorbike fair. For the first time this year, the fair will also include products from the erstwhile IFMA, the European bicycle show of the Koelnmesse. As a result, the complete 2-wheel sector will be represented, ie. bicycles, motorbikes and scooters.

Focus on LEVs
This year the focus will be on the trend theme electric mobility. Under the overarching title "e-motion", the full spectrum of LEV market products will be on exhibition, including e-motorbikes, e-scooters, e-bicycles, the infrastructure to cater for these modern products, business models, motor systems and battery technology. In fact, the strong emphasis placed on electric transport will bring the motorized and non-motorized segments of the 2-wheel market closer together. Apart from the wide exhibitor offering, there will be an expansive test track for e-scooter and electric bikes, built and co-operated by pedelec and e-bike test authority ExtraEnergy. International LEV Conference
ExtraEnergy e.V. has been organizing the annual LEV Conference in Cologne since 1995 and has seen it grow into the biggest get-together of representatives from the international LEV sector. This year the Conference will take place on 4 and 5 October, ie. on the two days prior to the INTERMOT. Rotating between Taiwan and Germany from year to year, the LEV Conference brings manufacturers of components and bicycles together to exchange information on current market trends, initiatives and legislation in the pipeline - and to network. This year's INTERMOT will afford LEV Conference participants the ideal opportunity to extend their focus from electric bicycles to all kinds of electric 2-wheelers.
