The premises of e-vehicle test authority ExtraEnergy in Tanna, a small town in Thuringia, was open to the public again on 14 May. Rain, wind and low temperatures couldn't keep visitors from test-riding the pedelecs and e-bikes recently tested by ExtraEnergy.
Avid pedelec fans and representatives of the bicycle industry traveled from far and wide to the small town of Tanna on 14 May for the ExtraEnergy Day of the Open Door.
The event offered an ideal opportunity to see and test-ride the latest models of pedelecs on the market, to buy and read the recently published ExtraEnergy Magazine with all the test results of the Autumn 2009 Test and look at the old and new models in ExtraEnergy's impressive collection of over 600 vehicles.
Bicycle companies preparing themselves to enter the market as pedelec retail traders, came to Tanna to be informed extensively about technical issues, the market and the products of the different manufacturers.
Visitors were free to move around the test center, where about 60 electric vehicles are tested every year under simulated everyday conditions. All the models in the recently completed Spring Test were available for test rides.
The beautiful countryside beckoned, while the weather did all in its power to damp the spirits. Still, many visitors ignored the rain and simply did what they came to do - test-ride exciting new models.

After the Open Day is before the Open Day! At the Stelzen Music Festival on 25 - 27 June there will again be the opportunity to test-ride the latest models - hopefully in better weather conditions! And on 28 June ExtraEnergy will host another Day of the Open Door, with test rides, museum visits and Thuringer Bratwurst.
