As sponsor of the trade fair BIKE EXPO, ExtraEnergy will plan and implement the supporting program of the fair's light electric vehicle (LEV) section for the next 5 years.
ExtraEnergy plans to increase the focus on the theme e-mobility at the BIKE EXPO and wants the fair's LEV section to set new standards for cycle fairs.
According to Hannes Neupert, president of ExtraEnergy, a hall dedicated to a test track only, an outdoor track for speed tests, special exhibitions and training courses running parallel to the fair, are among the activities already agreed.
"Messe Münich and ExtraEnergy will both benefit from the partnership," Neupert said. "The trade fair BIKE EXPO will be presented for the second time only in 2010. ExtraEnergy's attractions and experience will, therefore, be important consumer drawcards to the young trade fair. At the same time, it will be an opportunity for ExtraEnergy to inform and inspire a broad public audience in Munich with the new direction transport is taking. The fair will bring a hitherto unequalled all-round program to the public, exhibitors and traders," said Neupert.
The BrandNew Awards will be presented to the most innovative young companies in different categories at BIKE EXPO this year. Awards will be handed to companies which enriched the cycling sector with their ideas. There will also be an award for the category e-bike/pedelec.
ExtraEnergy will erect the recently-built mobile test ramp of the EU project GoPedelec!
Testing over long distances at maximum speed The public will be able to testride pedelecs and e-bikes on two, expansive test tracks. The one will be for the normal, powerful pedelecs, and the other (the speed track) will give riders the chance to take the bikes (and themselves) to their limits.
The so-called "Flitzerblitzer" will add extra excitement. This camera will snap pictures of riders at the point on the track where they reach the highest speed. Next to the test track, ExtraEnergy will exhibit the roughly 60 bikes tested in April 2010. The public will be able to testride the bikes and read the test report compiled by ExtraEnergy for every bike following the test.
In addition, ExtraEnergy will inform visitors about the latest developments in the LEV sector in three special exhibitions. Here the focus will be on product and battery safety.
Certificate courses for traders A variety of training courses will be on offer to traders. Participating traders will be entered in ExtraEnergy's Trade Directory. Traders successfully completing the final test, will receive certificates from the organizer and dangerous goods tokens from TÜV Thüringia.
A variety of opportunities The BIKE EXPO concept offers exhibitors opportunities and extras unseen until now. Exhibitors can select from a variety of stands, ranging from the practical check-in stand, to the premium stand with special privileges. Part of the package is an entry in the fair catalog - a valuable extra.
The catalog will be bound into the ExtraEnergy Magazine, which will appear for the first time in 2010 and will be on sale at news stands. This new magazine will appear three times per year. Apart from information and articles on the LEV scene, the magazine will carry the test results of all ExtraEnergy-conducted tests on pedelecs and e-bikes.
