Tim Schaefer introduced GAIA Europe Akkumulatorenwerke GmbH founded in 1996 in Nordhausen, Germany, and was merged with Lithium Technology Corporation in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, USA, in 2002. LTC’s core expertise are large format, high power engineered Lithium-Ion batteries with cell energy content up to 216 Wh (60 Ah). LTC delivers customers with battery packs of up to 600 V from pilot facilities in Germany and the US for military, transportation and stationary applications. Batteries with LTC’s DD High Power cell meet the performance targets for Hybrid Electrical Vehicles in terms of power, cycle life and low temperature performance.
