Summary: A tightly tuned speed machine, the eflow ER2 really rewards its rider only when they contribute enough power themselves – but then it’s quite something! The tidy looks, with that mighty battery pack in the seatpost, are striking.
Manufacturer eflow is a newcomer on the European market, moving optimistically into a second year after making a good start in 2015. And the ER2 is a racy example of their work; the powerful rear motor operates pleasantly quietly, and it really responds on rides when you’re contributing powerfully by pedalling yourself. Even when riding at high speed the bike handles securely, and thanks to the powerful brakes you can always bring yourself swiftly to a safe stop. The integration of the battery into the seatpost works well visually, although on our test bikes there were two bolts to loosen to adjust it. The wide tyres absorb minor shocks so the ride is not too harsh despite the lack of suspension. Eflow’s objective with the ER2, to combine good helpings of sportiness and lifestyle, is reflected in the absence of other accessories too: there’s no carrier rack or lighting, for example. ExtraEnergy’s verdict: a great lifestyle pedelec!
