From 2 to 3 October 2014, the INTERMOT at Cologne Exhibition Center will once again be the international center for Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs).
The nominated concepts of the E-Bike Award and the LEV Conference invite to knowledge transfer around pedelec and e-bike infrastructure from 2 to 3 October 2014 at INTERMOT in Cologne.
The potential of electric bikes as an alternative to cars is proofed by several surveys. An adequate infrastructure is still missing. Charging options are inconvenient to dangerous. The use of public transport (PT) is complicated because of the risk of theft and accessibility.
In 2012, the E-Bike Award was awarded to the project "inmod" which deals with electric bikes as part of every chain of public transport. Development already went some steps further. Meanwhile, standardized solutions are on the brink of commercial launch. The future will enable theft protection and safe charging everywhere.
The E-Bike Award is initiated by ExtraEnergy e.V. and RWE Deutschland AG. It is open to local councils, tourism organizations and other public institutions around Germany. Those concepts that convince through their creativity and innovative power, major benefits to the general public and sustainable effects will win price money of 5,000 € (1st place), 2,000 € (2nd place) or 1,000 € (3rd place).
The award ceremony will take place on 2 October 2014 within INTERMOT at the Cologne Exhibition Centre.
The biannual LEV Conference is the biggest international meeting of the LEV industry. Here is where decision makers from all over the world meet. Since 1995, manufacturers, dealers, R&D professionals, municipal decision makers, tourism professionals and specialized press use the event to get the latest information on the Light-Electric-Vehicle (LEV) industry.
On 3 October 2014, the LEV Conference invites to transfer knowledge around pedelec and e-bike infrastructure, e.g. regulatory framework and best practice examples on rental schemes and charging infrastructure.
