Curve-loving Tripendo now also a Pedelec

The curve-loving three-wheeler of Tripendo Leichtfahrzeuge GmbH always catches the eye on fairs and exhibitions. The  recumbent bike is now also available with an electric motor.

The hub motor in the rear wheel delivers up to 2,500 watt and turns the Tripendo into a missile with a top speed of 45 km/h. Thanks to the tilt technology, the e-Tripendo can even shoot through a curve at high speed. The 32Ah (52V) lithium-polymer battery, fitted sideways under the seat, has a range of up to 100 kilometer. In case the final destination hasn't been reached, the battery can be recharged in a relatively short period of 2 hours.

The vehicle is fitted with indicators, brake lights, LED lighting, a H$ headlight and a hooter. Optically, it catches the eye with a special metalic blue paint.

To ride the sporty streaker, one needs a driver's license for a moped, an insurance disc and a helmet. For all who don't mind when the motor support cuts out at 25 km/h, the e-Tripendo is also available in a pedelec version, with a smaller engine and a 16Ah (52) battery. Tripendo Leichtfahrzeuge GmbH promised to announce the prices for the different models not later than the Germersheimer Spezi Fair in April.

Frank Schliewert, inventor of the Tripendo, is a pedelec expert and supporter - particularly of the faster versions. "But this number will blow you off your seat," he forecasts.
