Pedelec infrastructure was one of the main topics of the Go Pedelec! MDM Worshop at the Cities for Mobility conference in Stuttgart on 2 July 2012.
Go Pedelec! project-coordinater Thomas Lewis (energieautark consulting GmbH) informed on the definition of a pedelec, on the concept of a pedelec roadshow, and on pedelec infrastructure in particular.
Ruud Ditewig, City of Utrecht, spoke on the concept of "bicycle highways" in the Netherlands which may well accommodate also pedelecs.
Dr. Walter Vogt, University of Stuttgart, presented a survey held among municipal decision-makers and their attitudes towards pedelecs.
Wolfgang Forderer, City of Stuttgart, informed on main facts of the pilot project "Stuttgart pedelec". Within the project, pedelecs were provided to city employees.
Learning by Doing
On the second day, a pedelec tour was offered to the participants. "The tour riding on a pedelec really brought the interest into the bodies and minds of the people", commented Thomas Lewis (energieautark consulting GmbH).
