*Very Good Cargo Performance, Good Easy, Good Business
A distinctly special cargo pedelec 45 – the “Rapid” unleashes tremendous power. Front wheel drive and high quality components deliver important advantages. Test winner in both Commercial Cargo 50kg+ and Commercial Cargo 100kg+ product groups. The Radkutsche Rapid also gained a ‘Good’ verdict in the Easy and Business product groups.
Tailwinds are guaranteed with the “Rapid”, even if you’re fully laden or on steep hills. The top quality Rohloff hub gearing is ideal for cargo pedelecs with front wheel drive. In contrast to most of the other test bikes, the motor is controlled by a twist throttle, so you decide for yourself when and how much push is delivered. This co-ordination requires some initial practice, because the huge torque from the motor can easily cause the small front wheel to spin. But at higher speeds it’s especially pleasing that the front motor, which can easily accelerate you to 45 km/h, keeps the bike on track, and resists front wheel shimmy. The “Rapid” has the highest power assist figures in the entire cargo bike test, and also completed the fastest lap of any cargo pedelec. This makes it especially well suited to longer, more mountainous trips. Manufacturer Radkutsche offers numerous modules for child carrying and for commercial use.
