ExtraEnergy has been testing pedelecs for 25 years - 2017 was a year of superlatives - and 2018 will be even better!
 

 
The first ExtraEnergy Test was published in May 1992, so 25 years ago. At that time there was a total of around 5,000 electrical two-wheelers worldwide. A total of just three electric bikes participated in the test.

The world´s count of electric bikes in 2017, in contrast, is around 250 million, and this year there were 85 pedelecs in the ExtraEnergy Test. With tests and additional activities, including shows,conferences, standardisation and consultation, ExtraEnergy has secured a significant influence on market development.

This market development promises to become even more dynamic in the coming 25 years. At the end of that period, ExtraEnergy estimates that the world´s total of electric two wheelers will have reached 1.6 billion.

ExtraEnergy is delighted to be able to work with other media and organisations. In the German-speaking countries, this is primarily the Axel Springer Verlag publishing house, with its titles BIKE BILD, COMPUTER BILD, TEST BILD, AUTO BILD Reisemobil and with more to come.

Additionally, there will also be online media and daily newspapers from the Axel Springer Verlag.

The ANWB is another strong partner: with 4.4 million members they are the largest consumer organisation in the Netherlands. Since 2016 we have enjoyed an intensive collaboration, including jointly carrying out tests. Currently all of the ergonomics tests are carried out in the Netherlands by ANWB members. The results of the Autumn 2017 Test will be published on the ANWB website. And along with the Spring 2017 test results, the Autumn test results will also be published through to mid 2018 in BIKE BILD.
